Following an apprenticeship with the Dowty Group and a first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Brian started as a Product Development Engineer at Dowty Seals in 1992, involved in the finite element analysis of elastomeric sealing components. To develop his career in computer aided engineering, he returned to academia to complete an engineering doctorate research project at University of Manchester in 1997, writing an FEA-based metal forming simulation program for ABBDaimler Benz.
Brian is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, currently serving on the UK Steering Group of NAFEMS.
